Science at the Edge of the World
We invite researchers from around the world to join the international research and education
center in Barentsburg, Svalbard. Conduct your work in the Arctic with access to active research infrastructure, including meteorological stations, laboratories, and field bases.
The center is open to research across natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities,
as well as to individual research initiatives.

Barentsburg is one of the northernmost settlements in
the world, where a unique natural environment and a rich industrial heritage create the conditions for international scientific collaboration. An international research center is being developed here, bringing together researchers to study
the Arctic and support the sustainable development of northern territories.
Combining modern infrastructure with year-round accessibility, Barentsburg
is becoming a platform for science, dialogue, and cooperation in the Arctic —
for a shared future
Its mission is to create opportunities for international collaboration and knowledge exchange
in the Arctic

Participation Terms
The participation fee is $700 per week and covers all living expenses.
The program duration is 2 weeks, with a total cost of $1,400.
Participants are granted full access to research infrastructure at no additional cost, offering opportunities that are rarely available under standard
conditions.
We invite you to work in one of the most unique research environments on the planet — the Svalbard archipelago, where the Arctic landscape and an active scientific community coexist in a single space.
